Who will you be supporting?

  • We are a very welcoming service with our ages ranging from 18-70+
  • We all have different levels of support required to live independently in our accommodation.
  • We are a mental health/learning disability service that provides a person centric care planning approach and support.
  • Some of us have complex care needs, some of us just need a little support with day to day living.
  • All our staff have been trained to the highest of standards to enable them to deliver centred person support, staff also so have access to ongoing training to enhance their knowledge but also to enhance the support that we provide.

What is important to us?

  • Some of us love to get out and about in the local community, we enjoy attending any community-based services that are available to us.
  • Some of us enjoy getting together and having a brew and a chat in each other’s flats
  • We like to get together; we like to have our tenants’ meetings where we voice any issues we may be having
  • We love to have fun; we are hoping to do some gardening in the summer and sit out in the garden of an evening and have a BBQ and get together.
  • We like to hear about any local activities that we may be able to attend and join in with.
  • We are fun loving, very welcoming to all that look at either living here or working here we like to make everyone feel welcome and to make a positive impact
  • We like to be safe at night so would like people that look at or wellbeing and safety, we want a staff team that enable us and allow us to make choices, we like people that will support with decisions and choices. We like people who are positive, have energy and enthusiasm and that are fun to be around. We like the calm of the service and wouldn’t like that to change as this would upset people that dislike a noisy environment and change.

Experience needed for this role?

  • Experienced with Personal care
  • Experienced with Peg feeding and stoma
  • Moving and positioning
  • Someone who has experience working with people with Autism, and understand physical disabilities
  • Looking for someone who is fun, chatty, caring and encouraging to help the new person supported to live their best life

Other important information?

  • We will have up to 4 members of staff on during the day, we have 2 staff that are waking nights that are based in the offices should anyone need anything.
  • Each flat has an alarm that goes direct to the office should you need anything at night.
  • Staff work 12hrs shifts including weekends. 8 am till 8pm day shifts, and 8pm till 8am night shifts
  • We need staff that are friendly, approachable, trustworthy, willing to be flexible, adaptable, skilled to support the people we support.

We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone that would be perfect for the role, will have professional experience. This is why we're really passionate about recruiting to individuals’ values and we recruit people from all walks of life; From people with vast experience in a support worker or care assistant role, from people with lived experiences who may have friends or relatives with disabilities or have looked after older relatives, to people with no experience at all.
