Job summary

Voyage Care in Leyland is seeking a caring Support Worker to join Calvert House on a 35-hour week. You will work shifts from 8:00am to 3:00pm and 3:00pm to 10:00pm, with coverage for 10:00pm–8:00am and sleep-ins when required, helping residents gain independence and participate in local activities.

As part of a supportive team, you will assist with personal care, enable daily living skills, and encourage community involvement.

Qualifications

• Genuine, caring, hands-on approach to supporting others.
• Willing to complete a 2-week training programme.
• Experience with Positive Behaviour Support plans and brain injury is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help people gain more independence in daily life.
• Assist with personal care and encourage community access.
• Support social activities and daily routines in Calvert House Leyland.
• Work as part of a dynamic team with the people we support.
• Occasional sleep-ins and varied shifts as required.

Support Worker (35 hours per week) - Leyland - £12.72 per hour

Our residential service, Calvert House in Leyland is a welcoming and friendly environment and you can be sure that no two days will be the same! You'll be enhancing the lives of the people we support by teaching them new life skills, assisting with personal care, encouraging them to access their local communities, socialising and doing lots of activities. One day you could be out with the people we support in local bars and pubs, the next you could be unwinding with them playing video games, watching films or going to the cinema.

We're interested in our Support Workers having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our Support Workers should be resilient, flexible and composed in their approach, have experience with following Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice as well as experience working with individuals with an acquired brain injury. We do consider those who are new to care but must be willing to complete our 2 week training programme.
