Job summary

Voyage Care in Retford is seeking a caring and hands-on Support Worker to help residents gain more independence in daily life. You’ll work as part of a dynamic team to support a fantastic group of people, assisting with personal care, community access and activities.

Typical shifts include 7am-2pm or 2pm-10pm, with enhanced pay for evenings and weekends, overtime premiums and access to Wagestream. A full UK driving license and DBS checks are required; training and progression opportunities are

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK driving license.
• Experience with following Positive Behaviour Support plans.
• Experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including behaviours of distress, mental health conditions, autism, forensic histories and trauma.
• Demonstrates resilience, flexibility and composure in approach.

Responsibilities

• Help people gain more independence in their daily lives.
• Assist with personal care and daily activities.
• Encourage access to local communities and socialise with the people we support.
• Plan and participate in activities, including outings to bars, pubs, games and films.
• Support goal setting, confidence building and progression toward personal aims.

Typical Shifts are: Monday - Sunday 7am - 2pm OR 2pm - 10pm

Our residential service in Retford, is a welcoming and friendly environment and you can be sure that no two days will be the same! You’ll be enhancing the lives of the people we support by teaching them new life skills, assisting with personal care, encouraging them to access their local communities, socialising and doing lots of activities. One day you could be out with the people we support in local bars and pubs, the next you could be unwinding with them playing video games, watching films or going for walks,

We’re interested in our Support Workers having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our Support Workers should hold a full UK driving license, be resilient, flexible and composed in their approach, have experience with following Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice as well as experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including behaviour's of distress, mental health conditions, autism, forensic histories and people who have experienced trauma.
