Job summary

Yorkshire Community Care is seeking dedicated Support Workers to join our compassionate team in the York area. You will provide personalised care, assist with daily living activities, and monitor health while maintaining clear records.

A sleep shift is also possible, with a strong emphasis on empathy and effective communication. The role requires 6 months experience in autism and learning difficulties, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work both independently and within a care

Responsibilities

Job Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for dedicated and experienced Support Workers to join our compassionate team at Yorkshire Community Care, supporting our client in the York area.

Duties


  • Deliver personalised, high-quality care and support tailored to the client’s individual needs.

  • Assist with daily living activities including personal hygiene, mobility and meal preparation.

  • Administer medication and monitor health and wellbeing, responding appropriately to any changes.

  • Support community access, accompanying the client on outings, ensuring accessibility and safety.

  • Provide emotional support, encouragement and companionship.

  • Maintain accurate records of all care provided and report any concerns promptly.

  • Work collaboratively with family members and healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.


What We’re Looking For


  • 6 months Experience in Autism and Learning Difficulties

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Energetic, positive, and empathetic personality.

  • Awareness of accessibility needs, including wheelchair-friendly routes, transport and venues.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider care team.

  • Shift Pattern- Mon- Sun 12 Hours a day- at least one alternate weekend

  • A calm, resilient and proactive approach to complex situations.

  • Someone who can bring warmth, humour and creativity to the role.

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (desirable but not essential).
