Job summary

NL Group is seeking a compassionate Support Worker to provide 2:1 support and care for individuals with Autism and complex learning needs. In this role you will assist with daily living, mobility, and personal care while building trusting relationships with clients and their families.

You will work within a supportive team, receive comprehensive induction training, and have access to ongoing development opportunities. A UK driving licence and DBS process is part of the onboarding.

Qualifications

  • A valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle is essential.
  • 6+ months experience in Complex Care.
  • Experience with learning disabilities is preferred.
  • Restraint training/violence prevention training desirable but not required.
  • Qualifications in Health and Social Care or Mental Health (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3) are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 2:1 personalised care and support.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including personal care.
  • Build trusting relationships with clients, offering emotional support and encouragement.
  • Support mobility and physical needs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and other stakeholders to develop and implement personalised care plans.

  • Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all clients.

Help support a young person with complex learning disabilities achieve their full potential - join our team as a Support Worker.
Role Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable and dedicated Support Worker to provide 2:1 support, joining a core team of Support Workers. Providing care and support to someone with Autism and challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 2:1 personalised care and support
  • Assist with daily living activities, including personal care.
  • Build trusting relationships with clients, offering emotional support and encouragement.
  • Support mobility and physical needs
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and other stakeholders to develop and implement personalised care plans.
  • Monitor and document client progress, reporting any concerns to senior staff or healthcare professionals.
  • Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all clients.
About You:
  • A valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle is essential.
  • Previous experience working with Complex Care for at least 6 months
  • Previous experience with supporting learning disabilities also preferred
  • Any restraint training/violence prevention training qualifications are desirable but not required.
  • Relevant qualifications in Health and Social Care or Mental Health (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3) are an advantage.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic with a strong commitment to supporting individuals with their needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with sensitivity.
  • A proactive and positive approach to supporting service users.
