Job summary

Ashdown Care in South Tyneside (Jarrow) is hiring a part-time Support Worker to assist adults with learning disabilities. The role covers 30/31 hours per week, including days and sleep-in shifts, with a pay rate of £13.10 per hour. You will be joining a motivated team dedicated to improving the lives and independence of service users.

We value empathy, teamwork and proactive activity planning, and provide ongoing training and progression opportunities. Sponsorship is not available at this time.

  • Experience with adults with learning disabilities, autism.
  • Committed, empathetic, able to work in a team and on own initiative.
  • Good sense of humour.
  • Able to support sensory needs and triggers.
  • Outgoing and passionate about improving the service user’s quality of life.
  • Knowledge of positive behaviour support, risk assessments & de-escalation strategies.
  • Proactive and motivated to look for new activities and experiences for the people we support.
  • Strong communication skills

Contracted hours: 30/31 hours per week (2 week rolling rota, alternate weekends)
