Job Description

Job Title: Support Worker

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: £25,965.41 Per Annum (£27,112.48 after 18 months of successful performance)

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Working Pattern: Shifts, including every other weekend

Location: Wycombe Projects, Old Tea Warehouse, High Wycombe

The role of Support Worker

You will support customers in our services by connecting them with employability coaches, helping manage their finances, assisting with benefits, and supporting their move to permanent housing. Your role is to boost their confidence and support their journey to rebuild their lives. You will also maintain records of your work. The role can be challenging but rewarding. Resilience, empathy, and the ability to leave work at work are essential.

About you

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience working with vulnerable people
  • Experience delivering structured support and risk management
  • A caring, empathetic, resilient, and team-oriented attitude
  • Understanding of supporting vulnerable individuals, possibly with lived experience of homelessness, addiction, etc.
  • Flexibility to work hours that meet customer and business needs, including lone working

Role Profile

Supporting Customers:

  • Use Trauma-Informed Care to support independence
  • Develop and review support and move-on plans
  • Engage customers and develop life skills
  • Assist with tenancy and financial matters
  • Support healthcare needs and medication management
  • Record customer information accurately

Service Delivery:

  • Assess new customers and facilitate referrals
  • Maintain safe environments and report issues
  • Develop local partnerships and perform administrative duties
  • Work flexible hours and travel as needed
