Job summary

CrossReach in Scotland is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to help adults with learning disabilities gain independence and enjoy hobbies in the community.

You don't need prior care experience; a compassionate approach, strong communication, and willingness to learn are key. We provide full induction, ongoing training, and support to develop your career within social care.

Job description

As a Support Worker in our Community Support and Holiday Service, you'll support adults with learning disabilities to enjoy greater independence, build confidence and take part in the activities they enjoy. Every day is different, with opportunities to support people in their local community and beyond.

About you

You don't need previous experience in care to be successful in this role. We're looking for someone with compassion, a positive attitude and a genuine desire to support others. You'll have good communication skills, basic IT skills and be keen to learn.

You will hold, or be willing to achieve, an SVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Social Care (depending on the role), or an equivalent qualification that meets Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration requirements. Experience or a qualification in supporting autistic people would be welcomed but isn't essential. This role requires membership of the PVG Scheme and registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
