Job summary

The British Red Cross is seeking a Service Support Worker for Glasgow and East Renfrewshire in a casual, zero-hours role. You will provide essential support to adults in their homes and communities, helping with daily tasks and wellbeing.

No formal care experience is required, and candidates must have the right to work in the UK. Successful applicants will register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting and work as part of our Health and Care team.

Support Worker

Location: Glasgow and East Renfrewshire

Salary: £13.45 per hour

Hours: Zero Hours, as and when required

Contract: Casual

Additional Requirement: Successful candidates will be required to register with the Scottish Social Security Council (SSSC) within 3 months of starting.

What day in the life of a Service Support Worker involve?
  • Providing personal, emotional, and practical support to adults in their own homes or community.
  • Supporting service users with daily living tasks like bathing, dressing, meal prep, and medication.
  • Liaising with health and social care professionals to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
  • Promoting safety and wellbeing through risk assessments and welfare checks.
