Job summary

Capability Scotland is seeking Support Workers/Community Living Assistants to help adults with disabilities live as independently as possible in their own homes and communities across North Lanarkshire.

No prior care experience is required; we provide full training and will fully fund your SVQ qualification. Our support visits are typically a minimum of four hours, allowing time to build meaningful relationships and provide high-quality, person-centred support.

Support Worker - Airdrie

Location: Airdrie and surrounding areas, North Lanarkshire (your location will be agreed at interview/offer)

Salary: £13.45 per hour (£25,947.47 FTE) + £14.12 per hour enhanced night rate

Hours: Up to 37 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Working patterns: Full-time, part-time, weekend-only, relief and sleepover shifts

Requirements: Driving licence and access to a vehicle essential

Whether you're an experienced Support Worker or you're looking to start your career in care, you don't need previous care experience. We provide full training and will fully fund your SVQ qualification.

Job Description: Community Living Assistant

What we're looking for

  • Flexible and willing to work a range of shifts
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential because this is a community-based role.
Hours/Shift patterns

We provide support 24 hours a day, so there are a variety of shifts available, including:

  • Day shifts
  • Back shifts
  • Sleepovers
  • Weekend shifts
  • Relief/bank work

We offer full-time, part-time and weekend-only opportunities, with rotas issued well in advance to help you plan your life outside work.

Please note that you must be able to work shifts. We are unable to accommodate availability restricted to specific hours such as 9am-2pm.
