About the Role

Are you looking for a weekend role that’s more than just a job? Do you want to spend your Saturdays doing something fun? Whether you’re a student, someone working Monday to Friday, or just looking to give back to the community while earning extra income, this could be the perfect opportunity.

We’re looking for a Support Worker to work with Jordan, a young man living in Colchester. Jordan has cerebral palsy and mild learning disabilities, but what really defines him is his passion for football, his love of being active, and his brilliant sense of humour. He’s independent, outgoing, and full of personality and he’s looking for someone who can help him live life to the fullest.

A Day in the Life

Saturdays are Jordan’s favourite day of the week. That’s when he heads out to coach a local football team in Maldon, a role he takes great pride in. Your job will be to support him in getting there, being part of the energy, and helping him manage the day with confidence and ease.

Outside of football, Jordan enjoys a wide range of interests. He’s a big Arsenal fan, regularly attends Colchester United and Colchester Rugby Club matches, and loves going to the gym and swimming. He’s also a fan of comedy nights, concerts, and spontaneous trips to places like Winter Wonderland or theme parks. No two weekends are the same, and that’s just how Jordan likes it.

Who This Role is Perfect For

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Wants to make a real difference in someone’s life.
  • Enjoys being active, social, and part of a team.
  • Works Monday to Friday and is looking for weekend-only work.
  • Is a student or recent graduate looking for experience in social care?
  • Wants to earn extra income while doing something meaningful.

What You’ll Need

  • A car and valid UK driving licence.
  • Business insurance (or willingness to get it)
  • Confidence driving around Colchester and surrounding areas.
  • A proactive, flexible attitude—especially when plans change.
  • A good sense of humour, patience, and a genuine interest in people.

How to Apply

If you’re ready to spend your weekends doing something that truly matters, we’d love to hear from you. Interviews will be held in June, so don’t wait—apply now and become part of Jordan’s team.

  • Applications are reviewed as received, with interviews until positions are filled.
  • An enhanced DBS disclosure is required, at no cost to the applicant.
  • We welcome applications from all individuals with the right to work in the UK and value workforce diversity.
  • As Disability Confident Leaders, we guarantee interviews for disabled applicants meeting the minimum criteria.
  • We offer support with applications and reasonable adjustments—contact our Resourcing Consultant Team at 03003039150.
  • BSL translated videos are available for all recruitment communications.
