Real Life Options is recruiting a dedicated Support Worker to join our Longstone Housing Support Service in Edinburgh. You will support adults with complex needs to live independent lives in a home-like setting, providing personal care and helping with daily activities.

This role offers flexible shifts and requires a compassionate, reliable approach. Full training is provided, and you will join a supportive, inclusive team at Real Life Options.

Responsabilidades

• Provide full or minimal support with personal care, including hoists.
• Assist with meal planning, shopping, preparation, and eating/drinking.
• Administer medication and manage finances per policy.
• Perform household tasks in shared areas (kitchen, bathroom, lounge, utility).
• Promote daily community activities such as walks, appointments, shopping and leisure.
• Maintain accurate records including medication charts and activity plans.
• Support individuals with behaviours by following structured support plans.

Hourly Rate: £13.45
Contract Type: 35 hours

We are currently recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at the Longstone Housing Support Service. This is a meaningful role where you will support adults with complex needs to live fulfilling, independent lives in a homely, supportive environment.

About the Service

The Longstone service consists of two Houses of Multiple Occupancy (HMOs), each supporting four men with a range of needs, including:

• Learning Disabilities
• Autism
• Cerebral Palsy
• Epilepsy
• Physical Disabilities (including wheelchair users)
• Limited or non-verbal communication

Support within the service includes the use of tracking and manual hoists for transfers. All hoisting and medication administration is carried out by two staff members at all times.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Support Worker at Real Life Options, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing full or minimal support with personal care, including the use of hoists
• Supporting with meal planning, food shopping, preparation, and eating/drinking
• Administering medication and managing finances in line with policy and procedures
• Completing household tasks such as cleaning shared areas (kitchen, bathroom, lounge, utility)
• Promoting and supporting daily community-based activities – such as local walks, appointments, shopping and new leisure opportunities
• Maintaining accurate and timely records, including medication records, health monitoring charts, cleaning schedules, and activity plans
• Supporting individuals with behaviours that may challenge, by following structured support plans

Working Hours and Flexibility

• Shifts: 08:00–15:00 and 15:00–22:00
• Optional long shift: 08:00–22:00
• You will be required to work 5 out of 7 days, including days, evenings and weekends
• Flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the people we support
