Job summary

Codi in Ammanford is seeking compassionate Support Workers for our 24/7 Supported Living team. You will support three individuals to live independently, assisting with daily living skills, hobbies and community participation.

Roles involve day/evening/shifts including sleep-ins; part-time contracts around 25 hours per week. Training provided for new staff in a friendly, supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • IT, numeracy and digital literacy required.
  • Experience working as part of a team and with people or customers.
  • A full UK manual driving licence is essential.
  • Role open to biologically female due to client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals to develop independence in cooking, budgeting, household tasks and daily living skills.
  • Administer and record medication safely per support plans.
  • Encourage participation in hobbies, fitness activities, volunteering, social events and community opportunities.
  • Build confidence, promote wellbeing and provide emotional support and companionship.
  • Help individuals access appointments, local groups and activities that matter to them.
  • Complete household tasks, maintain records, and collaborate with colleagues and professionals.
  • Use digital systems, including Nourish, to update notes, risk assessments and other documentation.
  • Manage petty cash accurately and contribute ideas to enhance independence and quality of life.

Job description

As a 24/7 service, flexibility is essential. You'll work a mix of day, evening, weekend and sleep-in shifts, with day shifts typically between 7:00am and 11:00pm. We have a range of part‑time roles available, each including an additional 9-hour sleep‑in shift. Typical contract will be 25 hours per week. We're looking for compassionate, dedicated Support Workers to join our Supported Living team in Ammanford, supporting three incredible individuals to live independently, pursue their goals, and enjoy life to the fullest. As a Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in helping people develop life skills, achieve personal goals, access their local community, and enjoy the hobbies and interests they love. Whether you're providing practical support, encouraging confidence and independence, or simply being a positive and reassuring presence, you'll make a real difference. Our friendly team supports individuals with learning disabilities and mental health needs within their own homes, just a short walk from Ammanford town centre. The people we support lead active and fulfilling lives, enjoying volunteering, aqua aerobics, Zumba, cinema trips, and community activities. One individual has even competed in the Olympics. Every day brings something different, exciting, and rewarding.

What you'll be doing:
  • Supporting individuals to develop independence with cooking, budgeting, household tasks, and daily living skills
  • Administering and recording medication safely in line with support plans
  • Encouraging participation in hobbies, fitness activities, volunteering, social events, and community opportunities
  • Building confidence, promoting wellbeing, and providing meaningful emotional support and companionship
  • Supporting individuals to access appointments, local groups, and activities that matter to them
  • Completing household tasks, maintaining accurate records, and working collaboratively with colleagues and professionals
  • Using digital systems, including Nourish, to update support notes, risk assessments, and other required documentation
  • Managing petty cash accurately and contributing creative ideas that enhance independence, choice, and quality of life for the people we support, A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided.
Please ensure your application evidences experience of the following:
  • I.T, numeracy & digital literacy
  • Experience working as part of a team and with people or customers
  • A full UK manual driving licence is essential, as you'll be required to drive mobility vehicles.

Pay and Benefits
  • £25,877 (£13.45 per hour)
  • Sleep‑in rate: £62.64 per 8 hour shift - approx. 1 per week.
  • Waking night rate: 20% Enhancement from 11pm to 7am
  • Enhanced DBS which we will pay for
  • Social Care Wales registration is fully reimbursed
