Job summary

Codi Group in Blackwood is recruiting Support Workers to join our Supported Living team, helping four gentlemen with mental health and learning disabilities live independently and engage in daily activities.

You will assist with cooking, budgeting, medication administration, personal care, and community involvement, with training provided. This part-time role offers flexible shifts across days, evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins, with a supportive team.

Qualifications

  • I.T, numeracy & digital literacy.
  • Experience working as part of a team and with people or customers.
  • A full UK manual driving licence is essential, as you'll be required to drive mobility vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals to develop independence with cooking, budgeting, household tasks, and daily living skills.
  • Administering and recording medication safely in line with support plans.
  • Encouraging participation in hobbies, fitness activities, volunteering, social events, and community opportunities.
  • Building confidence, promoting wellbeing, and providing meaningful emotional support and companionship.
  • Supporting individuals to access appointments, local groups, and activities that matter to them.
  • Completing household tasks, maintaining accurate records, and working collaboratively with colleagues and professionals.
  • Using digital systems to update support notes, risk assessments, and other required documentation.
  • Managing petty cash accurately and contributing creative ideas that enhance independence, choice, and quality of life for the people we support.
  • A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided.

Job description

We're looking for Support Workers to join our Supported Living team in Blackwood, supporting four gentlemen with mental health and learning disabilities. The individuals like a variety of things such as music, walking and visiting cafes and pubs. You'll support these individuals to live independently, pursue their goals, and enjoy life to the fullest. There will be support with cooking, household task and medication administration, some low level personal care and housing support Having an understanding of mental health would be beneficial. As a 24/7 service, flexibility is essential. You'll work a mix of day, evening, weekend and sleep-in shifts. We have a range of part-time roles with between 11 and 30 hours per week available.

What you’ll be doing:

Pay and Benefits
  • £13.45 per hour
  • Sleep-in rate: £62.64 per 8 hour shift - approx. 1 per week.
  • Waking night rate: 20% Enhancement (£16.14 per hour) from 11pm to 7am
  • Enhanced DBS which we will pay for
  • Social Care Wales registration is fully reimbursed
