Job summary

CareTech is recruiting Support Workers to join our service in Bradford, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs. This is an opportunity to build a rewarding, long-term career and make a real difference.

Edgerton Grove provides care for up to 3 people. The role involves delivering person-centred support, helping with daily living skills, promoting independence, and joining a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care environment with challenging behaviour preferred.
• Willingness to work towards a health and social qualification.
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis.
• Drivers desirable but not essential.
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech).

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans.
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required.
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
• Support activities, appointments, and community access.
• Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team.
• Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins.

Support Worker

Location: Bradord
Rate: £12.79 per hour

Permanent | Full-time | 37.5 hours per week (rota-based)

About the Service – Edgerton Grove

Edgerton Grove is three studio flats which provides care and support for up to 3 people with learning disabilities and/or autistic spectrum disorder, mentla health, complex and challenging behaviour who enjoy a wide range of hobbies from Bowling and Swimming to Dance and Music.,

There is easy access to public transport and it is close to local shops.

Service User Interests

The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences, including:

• Arts and crafts
• Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
• Holidays and short breaks
• Walks in the local park and community
• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

You will:

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.
