Job summary

Penderels Trust in Alcester is seeking a dedicated support worker for an 8-year-old boy with autism, ADHD and related needs. The role is part-time, on-site, with a salary of £15.75 per hour.

You will assist with personal care, encourage participation in activities, and help build a trusting one-to-one relationship while ensuring safety. A satisfactory DBS disclosure is required and the Disability Confident framework applies.

Responsibilities

• Support and/or prompt with personal care (toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed)
• Support and/or prompt to access sporting and leisure activities
• Assist and encourage socialisation, participating in activities
• Promote and encourage friendships and independence
• Develop a good and trusting one-to-one working relationship
• The individual's needs may vary day to day and tasks may reflect this; you may perform other duties as reasonably required.
• Report all accidents to the employer immediately; report defects or hazards; ensure safety at all times.

Job description

A very happy 8 year old boy who has autism and ADHD, sensory processing disorder and global developmental delay.

Has a love for nature, water, cartoons and large lorries.

He enjoys running around and having space to be able to do so and loves it when people repeat back to him what he says.

He stims alot and can be quite noisy with it when very excited.

Looking for a person who can support him to get outside and do the things he enjoys whilst keeping him safe and able to build up a good trusting one to one relationship and who can understand non-verbal autism.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).

Transport Requirement

Car driver and car owner – must have business insurance.
