Penderels Trust is seeking a kind, caring Personal Assistant/Support Worker in Stratford-upon-Avon to support our daughter who uses a wheelchair and has complex health needs. The role involves personal care, PEG feeding (training provided), and accompanying her on community outings.
The ideal candidate will be compassionate, reliable, and patient, with the ability to build a positive relationship while ensuring safety and wellbeing at all times. This is a part-time, on-site position.
We are looking for a kind, caring, and experienced Personal Assistant/Support Worker to spend quality time with our daughter and support her to enjoy fun and meaningful activities both at home and out in the community.
Our daughter uses a wheelchair and is unable to communicate verbally. She is primarily PEG fed, although she does occasionally have some food orally. She also experiences seizures from time to time. Despite her health needs, she is a very happy little girl who loves interaction, attention, and having fun with the people around her.
We are looking for someone who has experience working with children with complex health needs and who is confident, patient, and able to provide a high standard of care while ensuring her safety and wellbeing at all times.
Duties may include supporting with personal care, PEG feeding, some oral feeding (full training will be provided), use of a hoist (training will be provided), engaging her in activities she enjoys, accompanying her on community outings, and closely monitoring her health and wellbeing. Above all, we are looking for someone who can help her have fun, enjoy new experiences, and make the most of every day.
The ideal candidate will be compassionate, reliable, attentive, and committed to building a positive relationship with our daughter while supporting her individual needs.
The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.
You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.
Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).
