Job description

Every day, you'll support someone do something that matters to them

Picture this: a sunny afternoon picnic, an hour at the stables, a splash about in the pool, or just a slow walk taking in the fresh air. Back home, it might be a jigsaw on the table, a good magazine, or an impromptu living room disco. That's a normal day supporting the people we work with at MacIntyre.

We're looking for a Support Worker to join our team, helping five adults with learning disabilities and/or epilepsy to live life on their own terms. Everyone we support has their own personality, their own goals, and their own idea of a good day - and you'll be right there alongside them, supporting to make it happen.

No two shifts are ever quite the same. One day might be all about getting outdoors and active; the next might be a quiet one at home, working through a puzzle or catching up on a favourite TV show. You'll learn what makes each person tick, what makes them laugh, and what helps them feel most like themselves.

What you'll actually be doing:
  • Supporting with the everyday stuff - cooking, cleaning, life admin
  • Helping people stay healthy, active, and independent
  • Being alongside people while they do the things they enjoy
  • Building trust, having a laugh, and being a steady, reliable presence
  • Encouraging new experiences and celebrating the wins, big and small
  • Being a familiar, dependable face people can count on
