Support Services Engineer - Onsite (Southampton)

Salary: £40,

Position Overview:

As an Onsite Support Services Engineer, you will provide technical support to end-users. This role is specifically created to service one of our longstanding clients in the Southampton area.

This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your technical expertise. Your responsibilities will include handling incidents, problems, requests, or assisting with specific projects, depending on client needs. The role suits someone comfortable working independently onsite and as a subject matter expert providing comprehensive IT support.

Responsibilities:

• Consulting with clients on their technical needs
• Responding to queries and complaints, finding the best resolutions, and maintaining customer contact
• Managing tickets allocated by clients or operational teams through to resolution or escalation
• Ensuring successful sign-off, delivery, and handover to support services after project completion
• Assessing and reporting potential risks
• Reporting on customer feedback
• Maintaining all documentation, including asset information and configurations

Qualifications & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have experience with:

• Microsoft Exchange
• Active Directory
• Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)
• SCCM
• Microsoft Office
• Windows Servers (full range)
• Server Virtualisation (HyperV/VMWare)
• Local Area Networking
• Cisco LAN/WAN (Routers, Switches, ASAs)
• Routing and switching equipment (Cisco, Dell, HP)
• Citrix (XenApp/XenDesktop)
• Formal IT qualifications, ideally MCSE/MCITP or multiple MCPs (highly advantageous)
• SharePoint
