Job summary

Cornerstone in Maud, Scotland is seeking friendly, reliable people to support six individuals with daily living needs in their own homes. This permanent part-time role (16 or 20 hours per week) involves helping with shopping, housework, finances, medication and personal care, with enjoyable activities out in the community.

No previous care experience is required as full training is provided. A full UK manual driving licence is essential due to location and transport needs.

Qualifications

  • No prior experience required; training will be provided.
  • Must hold a full UK manual driving licence.
  • Willing to learn and complete SVQ.
  • Ability to support with daily living activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals with daily living tasks such as shopping, housework, finances, medication and personal care.
  • Assist with activities and outings (walking, adapted bikes, swimming, arts & crafts).
  • Provide safe, compassionate and reliable support tailored to each individual's needs.
  • Work across shifts including sleepovers where applicable.

Our team and the individuals you'll support

You'll become part of fun and friendly team who supports six individuals, all with different support needs to live in their own homes. The great thing about this job is no two days are ever the same! Your main aim will be to support the individuals with all aspects of daily living, including shopping, housework, finances, medication and personal care.

All of the individuals are very active and love to get out and about, so you might also find yourself being involved in activities like going for walks, riding adapted bikes, swimming, baking and arts & crafts.

Due to the rural location and some of the individuals we support having their own mobility cars we will need you to have a full manual, UK driving licence.

About You

You don't need experience to start your career with us; we recruit on values and we'll give you all the training you'll need if you're successful. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification too!

Shift Patterns

As we're dedicated to providing around the clock support tailored to the needs of each individual, our shifts currently fall into patterns between the hours of 0900-2130 hours. Sleepovers, weekends and public holidays would also form part of your rota on a rotational basis.

Sleepovers are not included in your contracted hours and you'll receive an additional sleepover payment of £107.60 per night.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

If you're successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
