Job description

The Richmond Fellowship Scotland makes a real difference in supporting people with their everyday lives. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Broomfield service as a Support Practitioner.

Please note: Due to the nature of this service, we can only accept applications from male applicants.

No previous experience in care is required - you’ll receive full training from our excellent, award-winning learning & development team before you start. This training includes classroom-based sessions, e-learning, and the chance to shadow experienced Support Practitioners and meet the people you’ll be supporting.

While a driving licence and access to your own car are preferable, they are not essential.

Requirements:
As a Support Practitioner, you may be required to work weekends, follow shift patterns, and take part in sleepovers as needed.

About the Role:
You’ll be supporting a young man with complex needs, working within CALM’s service on a 2:1 support basis. This role includes sleepovers and wakening nights.

About Us:
The Richmond Fellowship Scotland provides personalised, outcome-focused support to over 2,800 individuals in their own homes across Scotland, making us the country’s largest provider of social care.

We support individuals with various needs, including physical or learning disabilities, ongoing mental health conditions, autism, and alcohol or substance use challenges. Some individuals may present behaviours that challenge or require high levels of personal care.

  • TRFS rewards scheme (includes cashback and discounts at high street and online retailers)
  • Paid travel during shifts and 45p per mile fuel allowance
  • Continuous in-house training and career development opportunities
  • Refer a Friend scheme - £150 reward
  • Free membership to Glasgow Credit Union
  • Counselling & LifeWorks service

And most importantly, you’ll gain immense job satisfaction by making a positive difference in someone’s life.

How to Apply:
If you're applying via a job board, please ensure you also submit an application through our website - otherwise, we won't be able to contact you.

All successful applicants will receive a conditional offer, subject to satisfactory references and a PVG check. Having a conviction will not necessarily prevent you from working in this sector.

All new staff must register with the SSSC within 3 months of their start date.

Schedule 9 Part 1 (1)(1)(a) of the Equality Act 2010 applies to this post.

Closing Date: 16th June 2025 (We reserve the right to close this vacancy early.)

We welcome and encourage applications from all backgrounds. We’re committed to creating an inclusive environment for everyone - regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, age, sexual orientation, or any other part of your identity.

We celebrate difference and encourage everyone to join us.
