Job summary

Cornerstone in Bishopbriggs is seeking a part-time Support Practitioner to join a dedicated team supporting four individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs. You’ll help with daily activities, social engagement and everyday tasks.

You’ll receive training, funded qualifications, and ongoing support to develop professionally; no prior experience required. A flexible, people‑centered role with meaningful impact awaits.

You will join a dedicated team of Support Practitioners providing support to 4 individuals who have learning disabilities and other complex support needs, including physical disabilities. The people we support have many interests such as enjoying new experiences, living life to the full, going on holiday, cooking, socialising and meeting new friends.

They will give anything a go including going to concerts, singing along to Abba, and going out for meals - no two days are ever the same.

Shift Patterns

Our fabulous team provides tailored 2:1 support twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Shifts are formed by early shifts, back shifts, sleepovers, waking nights, weekends and public holidays on a rotational basis. Shifts typically start at 8am with back shifts finishing at 10pm. Waking nights usually being from 10pm - 8am and sleepovers which are typically 10am-10pm.

Our sleepovers are not included in your contracted hours, so you’ll receive an additional sleepover payment of between £107.60 per night for each sleepover worked!

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre‑employment checks.
