Job summary

University of Bath is seeking an experienced professional to provide specialist support to our student community. You will assess and manage risk and needs related to gender-based abuse, working in a trauma-informed, student-led framework.

The role requires handling a complex caseload and collaborating with colleagues to raise awareness through training and activities. The post is part-time (29.2 hours/week) for 12 months, and a Basic DBS check will be required.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience and/or a professional qualification in working with individuals who have experienced sexual violence, domestic abuse and harassment.
  • Experience in assessing and managing risk and needs related to individuals' experiences.
  • Commitment to a student-led and trauma-informed approach.
  • Proven ability to manage a complex caseload.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Commitment to raising awareness through training about gender-based abuse.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist support to our student community.
  • Assess and manage risk and needs related to experiences of gender-based abuse.
  • Promote a student-led and trauma-informed approach in practice.
  • Coordinate and manage a complex caseload effectively.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver holistic student support.

We are seeking an experienced, knowledgeable and confident professional to provide specialist support to our student community.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • have significant experience/and or a professional qualification in working with individuals who have experienced sexual violence, domestic abuse and harassment.
  • be experienced in working with individuals to assess and manage their risk and needs in relation to their experience.
  • be committed to a student led and trauma informed approach.
  • have a proven ability to manage a complex caseload.
  • understand and demonstrate the importance of working collaboratively with others.
  • be committed to raising awareness through training and other activities of the harm caused by gender-based abuse.

Further information: This role is part time (29.2 hours per week) for a fixed-term duration of 12 months.

There is a genuine occupational requirement to recruit a female to this vacancy due to casework requirements, and the majority of students accessing the services specifically request a female practitioner.

A Basic Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required for this role.
