Job summary

University of Bath is seeking a reliable and proactive Cleaner Porter to join our Campus Services team. The role includes maintaining cleanliness, assisting with deliveries and events, and supporting teaching activities across campus.

It is offered on a permanent, full-time basis with a 36.5-hour week and a comprehensive benefits package. Successful candidates will work both independently and within a team, demonstrating reliability, motivation and attention to detail while providing a welcoming

  • Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness within designated areas

  • Assisting with movement of furniture, equipment, and deliveries

  • Ensuring safe handling and storage of materials and supplies

About the role

We are seeking a reliable and proactive part-time Cleaner Porter to join our friendly Campus Services team within Cleaning and Portering. This role offers a varied workload, and a typical day may include:

  • Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness within designated areas
  • Emptying general waste and recycling bins
  • Assisting with the movement of furniture, equipment, and deliveries
  • Supporting room setups for events, meetings, and teaching activities
  • Responding to reactive requests from building users and facilities teams
  • Ensuring the safe handling and storage of materials and supplies
  • Providing a visible, helpful, and approachable presence for students, staff, and visitors

Please note, this role involves lifting and carrying. We are open to consider a variety of flexible work options but the typical role hours are 5am - 12.48pm Monday to Friday with occasional weekend working to cover busy periods and University events such as annual open days.

This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, 36.5 hours per week. Please note that the role title "Cleaner Porter (Full Time)" is used for advertising purposes only. If you are successful in your application, your official role title will be "Cleaner Porter".

Campus Services New Starter bonus *. In addition to the great benefits Campus Services' offers, we can offer you a £1,000 bonus. This is payable the month after successfully passing your six months' probation. Please note this bonus is pro rata for part time roles.
