Job summary

The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust in Salford seeks an organised and motivated Support Manager for Maternity, Gynaecology and Neonates to support operational delivery and service improvement.

You will work with the Operations Lead Manager, Clinical Leads and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely, safe and compassionate patient care, while overseeing rota coordination, training compliance and staffing processes.

Qualifications

• Line management experience required.
• Coaching and development of administrative staff.
• Strong data analysis to support capacity and performance.
• Ability to influence and communicate across clinical and administrative teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operational requirements of selected Pain Service areas, ensuring clinics, theatre lists and patient pathways run smoothly.
• Support the achievement of key performance standards, including RTT and cancer pathways, through validation and escalation.
• Build strong relationships across clinical and administrative teams to drive positive change.
• Support medical staffing processes including rota coordination and training compliance.
• Lead or contribute to complaint investigations, PALS enquiries and incident reviews with timely responses.
• Analyse complex data to understand capacity, demand and performance for decision-making.
• Contribute to service improvement projects and governance processes to enhance patient experience.
• Provide line management, coaching and development support to administrative staff within the service.

The Northern Care Alliance is seeking a Support Manager for Maternity, Gynaecology and Neonates. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the day-to-day running of a busy and high-performing service, ensuring our patients receive timely, safe and compassionate care. You will work closely with the Operations Lead Manager, Clinical Leads and wider multidisciplinary teams to support operational delivery, performance, workforce management and service improvement. This role is central to ensuring our patients' voices are heard, their care is prioritised, and our services continue to improve.

• Oversee the daily operational requirements of selected Pain Service areas, ensuring clinics, theatre lists and patient pathways run smoothly.
• Support the achievement of key performance standards, including RTT and cancer pathways, through accurate validation, escalation and collaborative problem-solving.
• Build strong working relationships across clinical and administrative teams, using your communication and influencing skills to drive positive change.
• Support medical staffing processes including rota coordination, sickness monitoring, mandatory training compliance and job plan activity.
• Lead or contribute to complaint investigations, PALS enquiries and incident reviews, ensuring timely and compassionate responses.
• Analyse complex data to understand capacity, demand and performance, supporting decision-making and service planning.
• Contribute to service improvement projects, PDSA cycles and governance processes to enhance patient experience and operational excellence.
• Provide line management, coaching and development support to administrative staff within the service
