Job summary

Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Neonatal Ward Manager to lead a multi‑disciplinary neonatal team across intensive, high dependency, special, and transitional care. You will drive safe, compassionate care, ensure governance, and support staff development in a busy Level 3 NICU.

The role requires strategic leadership, excellent communication, and a proven track record in neonatal nursing with a passion for family‑centred care.

We're searching for a dynamic leader to helm our dedicated neonatal team across intensive, high dependency, special, and transitional care. This is your chance to be at the forefront of neonatal excellence! As the Ward Manager you will be responsible for the leadership, management, and safe operational runningof a clinical ward. Ensuring high-quality, patient-centred care overseeing clinical standards, managing staff, and maintaining effective systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providevisible leadershipto nursing and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure delivery ofsafe, effective, evidence-based patient care.
  • Managestaffing, including rotas, supervision, appraisals, and supporting staff development.
  • Overseeclinical governance, incident reporting, audits, and quality improvement.
  • Maintain asafe ward environment, ensuring compliance with infection prevention and health & safety standards.
  • Manageward budgets, resource allocation, and equipment.
  • Lead onpatient experience, resolving concerns and supporting improvements.
  • Act as theprimary liaisonbetween the ward, senior management, and other clinical services.
