Job summary

BMSI is seeking a seasoned Building Management Systems (BMS) Support Engineer to join our Data Centres Support Division in the UK. This on-site role requires you to be within travel distance of Slough/West Drayton/Hayes and to bring hands-on experience with building controls, diagnostics, and maintenance.

You’ll perform preventative maintenance, generate concise KPI reports, and respond to service calls, while working with Schneider EcoStruxure and related systems.

Qualifications

• Experience with building management systems and building controls.
• Strong diagnostic skills and ability to resolve technical problems.
• Excellent communication to explain concepts to non-technical clients.
• Eligible to work in the UK with a full driving licence and CSCS card.

Responsibilities

• Undertake preventative maintenance and diagnostics on building control systems.
• Produce concise reports from PPM visits aligned with KPI requirements.
• Maintain maintenance schedules and trackers for visibility.
• Carry out small repairs and remedial works.
• Provide routine inspections for reliability of BMS equipment.
• Respond to customer service calls during system failures.
• Document service activities including tasks and client interactions.

We're currently on the lookout for a Support (Service) Engineer to join our vibrant Data Centres Support Division! This is an onsite role you must be located within comfortable travelling distance of Slough/West Drayton/Hayes.

What You’ll Do

• Undertake preventative maintenance and diagnostics on building control systems in accordance with the service level agreement between ourselves and our customers.
• Produce concise reports from PPM visits to be submitted promptly in line with KPI’s from our customers.
• Keep various schedules and trackers of maintenance works up to date for visibility of both BMSI and our customers.
• Carry out small repairs & remedial works.
• Provide routine inspections of BMS equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Respond to customer service calls in the event of a system failure.
• Document service activities, including maintenance tasks, repairs, and client interactions.

The Ideal Candidate

• The ideal candidate should be familiar with Schneider EcoStruxure. Experience with any of the following systems would also be advantageous; Tridium, Trend & IQVision, ALC, otherwise training will be provided.
• You must have experience of working within the building controls industry, as well as have an understanding of mechanical plant. Time spent working within data centre environments would be looked on favourably.
• You will have proven diagnostic skills and be able to systematically identify and resolve technical problems.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical clients.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Be located within comfortable travelling distance of Slough/West Drayton/Hayes.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Hold a CSCS skill card or equivalent.
• PC literate.
• You will also be required to be on call for emergency or breakdown purposes, on a rota basis.
