Job summary

Wales & West Utilities Limited in Wales is seeking a Support Driver on a 12-month contract to assist our operational teams in delivering a safe, reliable gas network. You will drive a 3.5 tonne drop side van to deliver and collect materials, support sites and ensure daily vehicle inspections are completed.

Most tasks involve driving, with additional duties such as setting out signs, cones, barriers and traffic management. A valid licence and DVSA awareness are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collect and deliver materials, plant & equipment as instructed for operational teams in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
• Work within WWU policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
• Make sure daily/weekly vehicle inspections are undertaken and defects reported and rectified within agreed timescales.
• Ensure vehicle condition is looked after and presented for maintenance when requested.
• Drive legally and within road and site speed limits.
• Maintain good, honest and robust communication with coordinators and engineering staff at all times.
• Use approved equipment only, in the correct manner to ensure safety of yourself and others.
• Be proactive with signing and guarding on site and report any defects to your First Line Manager.
