Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs in a Newark (NG24) primary school. You will work with a dedicated team to help pupils feel secure, included and ready to learn, adapting support to individual needs and promoting confidence and independence.

The ideal candidate will have experience with SEND, a patient, nurturing approach and strong communication skills; a relevant TA qualification or experience and an enhanced DBS on

TeacherActive is looking for caring SEND Teaching Assistants to work in a fantastic SEND school in Newark.

The school has amazing facilities and a very welcoming, supportive environment. You will work alongside a supportive team to help children feel secure, included and ready to learn.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will adapt your support to each child s needs, build trusting relationships and celebrate their progress. A patient, nurturing approach will be central to helping pupils develop confidence and independence.

Your role will include:

• Supporting children with SEND individually and in small groups.

• Helping pupils access and engage with learning activities.

• Building positive relationships and encouraging independence.

• Supporting emotional well-being and positive behaviour.

• Working closely with teaching staff to meet individual needs.

The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children with SEND.

• A patient, nurturing and caring approach.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or experience.

• An enhanced Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
