Bridge Recruitment is assisting an established client in recruiting an experienced Supply Chain Supervisor to join their expanding team in Bedford. The role involves managing a team of 8-10 people, with potential for team growth.

Responsibilities of the Supply Chain Supervisor

1. Goods In (Inbound Logistics): Oversee receipt and inspection of incoming goods, verify shipments against purchase orders, report discrepancies, ensure correct labelling, storage, and logging in the warehouse system, and oversee stock rotation to prevent damage or obsolescence.
2. Goods Out (Outbound Logistics): Manage order processing and ensure timely dispatch, coordinate with transport teams for deliveries, ensure proper packing and quality standards, and oversee shipping documentation and tracking.
3. Inventory & Warehouse Management: Maintain accurate stock records, conduct regular audits, optimize warehouse space, implement stock control procedures to minimize losses, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams.
4. Team Leadership & Compliance: Oversee warehouse staff, assign daily tasks, ensure health and safety compliance, train and mentor staff, monitor performance, and implement efficiency improvements.

Requirements

• Proven experience in warehouse or logistics management.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Understanding of stock control and inventory management.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Forklift license (not always required).
