The post holder will manage the day-to-day Materials Management Service for dedicated areas at the Trust. This service includes ordering, distribution, and put-away tasks, requiring initiative to ensure a robust delivery. The post holder will ensure efficient and accurate receipt of goods and services into the trust and oversee the timely delivery to their point of need.
Regular stock review meetings with ward managers will be undertaken to assess and improve the service, utilizing system reports, product standardization, and identifying savings opportunities. The post holder must ensure all activities comply with Trust policies, including procurement, infection control, and health and safety.
Promoting efficient stock management, the post holder will advise departments to achieve optimal stock levels. They will serve as a main contact for suppliers, managing delivery schedules, stock issues, new product implementations, and stock returns. Collaborating with procurement, they will help identify savings and drive change in clinical departments.
