Supplier Development Coordinator

Are you an organised and proactive supply chain professional with a passion for supplier development and project coordination? We are looking for a Supplier Development Coordinator to play a key role in strengthening and developing our supplier network, ensuring continuity of supply and supporting the successful introduction of new products and suppliers across the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, Engineering, Operations and Regulatory teams, coordinating critical supplier-related activities from initial identification through qualification and production readiness.

The Role

As a Supplier Development Coordinator, you will support the development, qualification and implementation of both new and existing suppliers. You will coordinate activities associated with supplier onboarding, business integration, second sourcing initiatives, New Product Introduction (NPI), supplier transfers and supply continuity programmes.

You will be responsible for ensuring supplier projects are effectively planned, monitored and progressed, helping the business reduce risk and improve supply chain resilience.

What you’ll do

  • Support supplier setup activities related to business integrations and product transfers.
  • Manage the completion of supplier documentation, quality requirements, commercial information and system setup activities.
  • Act as a key liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and delivered.
  • Escalate project risks, delays and unresolved actions that could impact implementation timelines.
  • Support the identification and implementation of second-source suppliers for critical materials and components.
  • Assist with prioritising second-source opportunities based on business risk, impact and complexity.

New Product Introduction (NPI)

  • Represent Supplier Development within NPI projects.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality and Procurement teams to ensure supplier requirements, specifications and timelines are clearly defined.
  • Track tooling, sample submissions, first article inspections, validation activities and supplier production readiness.
  • Ensure supplier-related actions are completed ahead of key project milestones and product launches.
  • Coordinate supplier qualification activities alongside Supplier Quality and Procurement teams.
  • Support the collection and review of supplier capability information, certifications and required documentation.
  • Coordinate supplier assessments, audits and follow-up actions.
  • Monitor corrective actions and supplier development activities through to completion.
  • Support supplier improvement plans where quality, capacity, delivery or capability risks have been identified.

What Success Looks Like

  • New suppliers onboarded and qualified within agreed timelines.
  • Second-source projects successfully progressed through to production approval.
  • Supplier readiness achieved in line with NPI and integration milestones.
  • Reduced project delays caused by incomplete supplier qualification activities.
  • Improved supply chain resilience through the implementation of alternative supply sources.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience working within Supply Chain, Procurement, Supplier Quality, Engineering, Operations or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Strong project coordination, planning and organisational skills.
  • Experience working within a regulated manufacturing environment such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, aerospace or automotive.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple functions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and project or task management tools.
  • A qualification or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, Information Systems or a related discipline would be advantageous.

Why Join Us?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and growing organisation where you will play a vital role in supplier development, business continuity and product delivery. You'll work with a wide range of stakeholders, contribute to strategic projects and help drive improvements across the supply base.

Our employees enjoy:

  • Competitive salary between £35,000-£40,000 plus bonus
  • Career development and growth opportunities
  • Excellent pension – starts at 6%, going up to 9.7% after 18 months.
  • Life assurance – Six times your basic salary
  • Private medical insurance with BUPA for you and your family
  • Free annual eye tests and flu vaccinations
  • Employee referral program where you can earn up to £1,000 for each successful hire you recommend
  • Opportunities to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes
