Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. in Northampton Grange Park is seeking a Supervisor Hygiene Operative to lead a team of hygiene operatives. This hands-on role focuses on maintaining high cleaning standards, enforcing safety rules, and achieving site objectives.

You’ll organise daily workloads, perform routine hygiene inspections, train and coach staff, and ensure COSHH and health & safety compliance. The position is full-time, 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00, with an hourly rate of £14.36 and

Qualifications

• Prior supervisory or team-leadership experience in cleaning/hygiene.
• Proven ability to organise workloads and schedules.
• Knowledge of professional cleaning standards and quality control.
• Understanding of Health & Safety requirements; COSHH awareness is advantageous.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the hygiene team to maintain high standards of cleanliness across the site.
• Organise daily workloads and hygiene schedules to meet required standards and frequencies.
• Complete routine hygiene inspections and take corrective action when needed.
• Train, coach and develop team members on hygiene procedures and safety practices.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and COSHH regulations and site hygiene requirements.

GXO People Campus is currently recruiting for a Supervisor Hygiene Operative to join our team in Northampton Grange Park. This is a hands-on supervisory role where you'll lead a team of hygiene operatives, ensuring cleaning standards, safety requirements and operational objectives are achieved across the site

This is afull-time position, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Lead and support the hygiene team, ensuring excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained across the site
• Organise daily workloads and hygiene schedules to ensure all areas are cleaned to the required standards and frequencies
• Complete routine hygiene inspections, monitor cleaning standards, and take corrective action where required
• Train, coach and develop team members on hygiene procedures, safe working practices and the correct use of cleaning equipment and chemicals
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies, COSHH regulations and site hygiene requirements
• Manage cleaning equipment, consumables and stock levels while building strong working relationships with site stakeholders and operational teams

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Previous experience within a cleaning, hygiene, facilities or similar operational environment
• Supervisory or team leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop others
• Good understanding of professional cleaning standards and quality control processes
• Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements; COSHH awareness would be advantageous
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
• Good IT skills and a hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail
