Job Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate drainage installation and maintenance projects on‑site, ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety standards.
  • Manage and lead a team of drainage operatives, providing guidance, training, and support to optimise productivity and quality of work.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant health and safety legislation, company policies, and environmental regulations.
  • Plan daily work schedules, allocate resources effectively, and monitor progress to meet project deadlines.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor work quality, safety compliance, and progress, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure project requirements are met efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of work activities, materials used, and safety documentation.
  • Assist in the procurement of materials and equipment necessary for drainage projects.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues on‑site, providing practical solutions to keep projects on track.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in drainage installation, maintenance, or related civil engineering disciplines.
  • Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Drainage or equivalent, or a recognised industry certification.
  • Valid CSCS card and other necessary health and safety certifications.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise operatives effectively.
  • Excellent organisational and planning abilities to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Good understanding of health and safety legislation, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
  • Technical proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with team members and clients.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and adapt to changing project requirements.
