Job summary

North Lanarkshire Council is recruiting Cleaning Supervisors to lead school cleaning teams, ensuring a clean, hygienic and welcoming environment across Our Lady & St Josephs PS, St Michael's Primary, and Chryston High School. The PVG scheme will be arranged by the council, and roles are 15 hours per site.

Ideal candidates will have supervisory experience in commercial cleaning, strong communication and organisational skills, and a proactive, team‑oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising cleaning teams in a commercial or school setting.
• Understanding of health and safety responsibilities in cleaning operations.
• Ability to communicate clearly and organise tasks within a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support school cleaning teams to maintain high standards.

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Cleaning Supervisors. In this role, you will help ensure our school environment is clean, hygienic, and welcoming, while also supporting and guiding the cleaning team to maintain consistently high standards.

With your previous supervisory experience and background in commercial cleaning, you'll be confident using a wide range of cleaning equipment and products, and you'll understand the health and safety responsibilities that come with this essential work.

We're looking for someone who is:

• Self motivated with a positive, flexible approach
• Able to work effectively as part of a team
• Skilled in communication and organisation
• Comfortable taking initiative and solving problems independently

Successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme before starting. This will be arranged by North Lanarkshire Council.

Work pattern:

Our Lady & St Josephs PS - 15 hours -Monday to Friday -15:15 till 18:15;

St Michael's Primary School - 15 hours - Monday to Friday - 06:00 till 09:00;

Chryston High School - 15 hours Monday to Thursday -16:00 till 19:00; Friday 15:30 Till 18:30;

*For all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip. You will only be paid for the hours that you work.
