About the role

As a Supermarket Assistant, you'll help create a positive experience for our customers by providing excellent Partner-led service and demonstrating a passion for food. Your dedication to going the extra mile will enhance the Waitrose brand's reputation and foster customer loyalty.

Requirements: Applicants must be 18 years or over due to working time regulations.

In addition to the stated pay, a shift premium will be paid for hours worked between 22:00 and 06:00, at the role's minimum pay rate.

Key Responsibilities

• Stock replenishment to ensure shelves are well-stocked and products are correctly placed.
• Fulfilling online customer orders for delivery.
• Reducing wastage through product diligence and markdowns on near-expiry items.
• Supporting the wider shop team with tasks such as checkout assistance, managing Click & Collect, and fulfilling customer orders.
• Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment with general shopkeeping duties.

Essential Skills/Experience

• Effective communication skills for teamwork and customer interaction.

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Experience in a customer-facing role.
• Interest and knowledge in food and drink trends.
• Flexibility to support various shop functions.
