Job summary

Notting Hill Genesis is seeking a Finance Systems Accountant to own SunSystems and support the transition to Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, ensuring robust month-end close, audit readiness and data migration across our housing portfolio.

You will join the Finance Systems Team, collaborating with Finance and IT to deliver reliable reporting, strong controls and timely financial close for around 70,000 homes. The role emphasizes documentation and governance throughout a complex ERP landscape.

Qualifications

• Proven experience administering a SunSystems accounting environment with period management and user-access controls.
• Experience producing reports and ad-hoc analysis using SunSystems reporting tools.
• Experience managing high-volume interfaces between general ledger and feeder systems.
• Finance-system migration/transition experience, including data mapping and reconciliation.
• Knowledge of core finance processes and ERP controls within an ERP environment.
• Pursuing CCAB-recognised accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA/CIPFA).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to trace transactions across systems.
• Ability to produce clear system and process documentation in plain English.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines during month-end, year-end and audit periods.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across Finance, IT, audit and suppliers.
• Experience in housing association or not-for-profit with complex property-related financial flows.
• Familiarity with Professional Advantage SunSystems add-ons; SQL skills or willingness to develop them.
• Willingness to learn Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.

Responsibilities

• Administer SunSystems and related tools, maintaining access, periods, COA and cost-centre structures.
• Reconcile data between legacy ledger, Dynamics 365 and feeder systems.
• Investigate and resolve interface/posting errors before month-end close.
• Support finance reporting calendar; ensure journals and reconciliations are accurate and timely.
• Provide reporting, data extracts and ad-hoc analysis to Finance leaders and analysts.
• Support audit by providing system access, extracts and reconciliation evidence.
• Maintain alignment between legacy structures and Dynamics 365 COA and master data.
• Assist data migration and validation from legacy to Dynamics 365.
• Log and resolve operational issues within service levels; address root causes.
• Document system knowledge with runbooks and reconciliation guides.
• Work with IT and suppliers to deliver changes through governance processes.
• Help ensure electronic payments are processed accurately and on time.
