Job description

Position: Summer School Store Assistant

Key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in inventory counting for a full store audit and reporting any discrepancies.
• Assisting in inventory management tasks, including receiving shipments, conducting stock counts, and reporting low stock or product discrepancies to management.
• Welcoming customers with a friendly demeanor, offering product information, and assisting them in finding items and the proper uniform size for those who need assistance.
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor, including restocking shelves, arranging displays, and ensuring product areas meet merchandising standards.
• Answering customer inquiries regarding products, uniform policies, providing knowledgeable and helpful responses to enhance satisfaction.
• Operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, processing payments, handling returns, and managing customer transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Filling online orders and shipping packages whenever necessary, updating the POS system in a timely manner and accurately.
• Reporting to the Store Manager or Assistant Manager, ensuring that daily tasks align with store goals and standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
• Ability to work between 9:00 am - 3:00 pm Monday-Friday in June, July and August.
• Basic math skills for handling cash and managing sales transactions accurately.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift moderate weights for extended periods, in alignment with the physical demands of retail work.

Recommended Experience

• Previous experience in retail, sales, or customer service.
• Familiarity with POS systems and other retail technology.
