Job summary

Arup in Birmingham is offering a Summer Intern- Electrical Engineer, Power Systems & HV Networks, 6-12 weeks. You will be aligned to our Power Systems & HV Engineers, working on power system analysis, design and research to help deliver a more secure, sustainable electricity network.

Under mentorship of senior engineers, you will work on several projects, gain communication and management skills, join an inclusive community, and have opportunities to develop your career path within Arup.

Qualifications

• Working towards a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; 2:1+ preferred.
• IET-accredited course study is advantageous.
• Good understanding of power systems analysis and/or experience in electrical design projects.
• Some coding experience would be advantageous.
• Strong MS Office skills and proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support power systems analysis and high voltage design work.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on client-facing and internal R&D projects.
• Develop technical communication and management skills.
• Contribute to delivering secure, sustainable electricity networks.
