Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd in Edinburgh is offering a 13-week Summer Placement in Mechanical Engineering. You will work in the Materials Testing Laboratory on material characterisation and failure analysis for aerospace components, gaining hands-on experience under senior engineers.

You’ll develop technical, project management and collaboration skills, with potential progression to graduate development programmes. On-site work with security vetting and allocated leave.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or Science with GPA/standing suitable for placement.
• Experience with technical writing and project planning.
• Analytical, modelling and laboratory skills required.

Responsibilities

• Gain practical experience in materials characterisation and testing.
• Contribute to failure analysis on metals and components.
• Develop sample preparation techniques and document new lab processes.
