Job summary

Alpadia Language Schools Sa is seeking an energetic Activity Leader to coordinate a rich cocurricular programme for summer camp attendees. You will lead activity sessions, plan and risk assess, supervise staff, and ensure student wellbeing while delivering engaging excursions in a safe, structured environment.

The role requires strong leadership, logistics skills, and a proactive approach to safeguarding, with on-site accommodation provided as part of a residential position.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing or coordinating activities in a summer camp, youth programme, or educational/recreational environment.
• Experience supervising and supporting Activity Leaders or similar staff teams.
• Ability to plan, organise, and deliver a varied and engaging activity programme.
• Experience ensuring the safety and welfare of children and young people.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with staff and participants.
• Good understanding of health and safety, safeguarding, and risk assessment procedures.
• Ability to handle logistics, scheduling, and last-minute changes efficiently.
• Creative approach to designing and improving activity programmes.
• Confident in managing behaviour and resolving conflicts calmly and fairly.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of students in our care.
• Ensure afternoon activities and/or Premium activities are properly prepared and delivered.
• Prepare session plans and risk assessments for all activities.
• Lead daily meetings with the activity team and delegate sessions.
• Ensure quality excursions and manage accompanying packs and itineraries.
• Create and display student lists for excursions and activities.
• Assist in managing student attendance for activities and excursions.
• Manage sign-up process for weekly activity planning.
• Deliver the quality standard for Alpadia's cocurricular programme.
