Job description
Overview

The Suicide Prevention Lead is a Trust-wide role which co-ordinates and leads Greater Manchester Mental Health's approaches to suicide prevention, at both strategic and clinical levels. A key part of this role is to be responsible for the implementation of the Trust's Suicide prevention strategy and promoting this initiative, reporting to the Medical Director. The role will act as an ambassador for the Trust to connect with multiple stakeholders in a variety of clinical and corporate settings to support the development of a strategic approach to suicide prevention that encompasses and supports the organisation in a whole system approach. As an ambassador for the Trust, the role will be well connected both locally and nationally to contribute to and learn from research and developments in these areas.

  • Lead and coordinate the Trust's approaches to suicide prevention at strategic and clinical levels.
  • Implement and promote the Trust's suicide prevention strategy; report to the Medical Director.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Trust, connecting with clinical and corporate stakeholders to develop a whole-system strategic approach to suicide prevention.
  • Engage locally and nationally to contribute to and learn from research and developments in suicide prevention.
Key Information

All positions within the Trust are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks. The Trust mandates enrolment in the DBS Update Service for roles requiring a DBS, at an annual fee of £16, to be maintained throughout employment. We are an approved sponsor for the Skilled Worker visa where eligible. Details on sponsorship eligibility and salary information are available on the UK Government's website. The Home Office changes from 22/07/2025 may impact the health and care sector.
