About our Team

The Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Engineering team offers services from initial concept through Power Systems Analysis, Cabling, Substations, Transmission and Distribution Infrastructure, System Balancing and Compensation, Protection Systems, SCADA, Communications, Converter Station Design, HVDC Systems, and overseas links.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise in delivering civil engineering designs for power transmission and distribution projects, including creating plans for substations, transmission towers, and underground cable systems using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit.
• Support the design of substations, power stations, data centers, BESS, and renewables from concept to detailed design.
• Review engineering deliverables such as designs, reports, proposals, and drawings.
• Contribute to bids and proposals, represent the company in client meetings, and apply your expertise to diverse projects.
• Manage project scope, technical delivery, and client engagement for civil works.
• Participate in large projects like the Great Grid Upgrade (GGP).
• Provide technical evaluations, problem-solving solutions, and contribute to project proposals including timelines, resources, and budgets.
• Ensure safety, health, environmental, sustainability, and quality standards are met.
• Adhere to AECOM and client design management processes and lead project/client meetings as needed.
• Participate in business and strategic planning to identify growth opportunities.
• Mentor team members, facilitate development, and support professional accreditation.
• Collaborate with global teams to deliver regional projects.
• Ensure design submissions comply with relevant codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in UK infrastructure engineering, preferably from a consultancy background.
• Civil Engineering degree with over 10 years supporting utility clients, involved in projects related to electrical transmission/distribution, wind, solar, BESS, and substations.
• Specialized in civil components like site layout, access roads, grading, drainage, and interdisciplinary coordination.
• Experience with National Grid projects is advantageous.
• Chartership & Lead CDAE/CDAE certifications are advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
