Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc are seeking an Assistant Project Manager – Substations to support delivery of major electricity infrastructure projects at Laleham Substation. You will assist with planning, coordination and safe delivery with PMs and the project team.

You will help manage risk, procurement and documentation while promoting health, safety and continuous improvement across multi-disciplinary teams. Hybrid working with potential remote work where roles allow.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering engineering, construction or infrastructure projects.
• Understanding of project management principles and controls.
• Experience implementing safe systems of work.
• Experience managing risks and change processes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Project Manager in the delivery of substation projects from initiation through to commissioning and handover.
• Assisting with project planning, programme management and progress monitoring.
• Maintaining accurate project records, reports and documentation.
• Coordinating site teams, subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery.
• Supporting project governance activities, reviews and reporting requirements.
• Assisting with risk, issue and opportunity management processes.
• Monitoring project performance against programme, quality and cost targets.
• Supporting procurement and supply chain activities to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Promoting Balfour Beatty's Zero Harm culture and ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned activities
