Job summary
SSEN Distribution in Scotland is seeking a Technical Services Field Technician to support delivery, maintenance and commissioning of Protection, Control and SCADA systems across our network. This hands-on role focuses on secondary systems in substations, with site-based work and travel across the North of Scotland.
You will install, modify, test and fault-find on protection relays and RTU/SCADA equipment, reading schematics, coordinating with engineers and contractors, and supporting capital
Qualifications
- Qualified in electrical installation and panel wiring.
- Experience with Protection, Control and SCADA systems is required.
- Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
Responsibilities
- Carry out installation and modification works on Protection, Control and SCADA systems within substations.
- Support testing, commissioning and fault-finding on protection and control systems under guidance.
- Assist refurbishment, maintenance and upgrades on relays, RTU/SCADA equipment and auxiliary systems.
- Read and interpret schematic/wiring diagrams to safely deliver work on live LV and DC systems.
- Collaborate with engineers, project teams, contractors and staff to support delivery across the network.
