Job summary

Hastings Direct is seeking a Subsidence Claims Handler to manage a portfolio of subsidence and ground movement home insurance claims. You will be the main contact for customers, balancing technical accuracy with indemnity spend while ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will review technical reports, liaise with engineers and surveyors, and drive fair settlements. The role offers hybrid working and a competitive salary in the UK market.

Qualifications

• Experience handling subsidence/ground movement home insurance claims.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to assess policy coverage and liability based on technical evidence.
• Experience negotiating settlements and managing indemnity spend.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of subsidence and ground movement claims from validation to final settlement.
• Interpret and review technical reports to determine cause and scope.
• Instruct and manage engineers, surveyors and repair networks.
• Make informed claim decisions and negotiate fair settlements within authority.
• Maintain proactive communications with customers throughout the claims journey.
