Balmoral Comtec Limited in Aberdeen is seeking a Subsea Test Centre Engineer to lead safe test activities within the STC, ensuring compliance with risk assessments, work instructions, and customer requirements.

You will develop, review, and approve test methods and reports, specify and maintain test equipment, investigate non-conformances, and drive safety, quality, and efficiency improvements across offshore energy projects.

Formación

• Significant experience in a senior engineering or testing role within a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Experience in subsea, oil and gas, or pressure testing is preferred.
• Practical experience with mechanical or pressure-test equipment, including calibration and fault finding.
• Ability to develop test solutions, specify equipment, interpret data and conduct investigations.
• Strong understanding of safety management and non-conformance processes.
• Proven leadership and effective communication with stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Lead safe working practices within the STC, ensuring compliance with risk assessments, work instructions, pre-use inspections, and incident reporting requirements.
• Develop, review, and approve test methods, plans, setups, and reports that meet customer, technical, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Investigate abnormal test results and non-conformances, support root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Specify, procure, commission, and maintain test equipment and infrastructure for safe, reliable operation.
• Maintain equipment performance through calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and software upgrades.
• Evaluate customer test enquiries, confirming feasibility, scope, risks, costs, schedules, and technical requirements.
• Drive improvements in safety, quality, efficiency, test accuracy, energy use, and overall operational performance.

Qualifications

• HND or equivalent relevant engineering, technical, testing or industrial qualification. Equivalent relevant experience will be considered. NEBOSH, IOSH or similar safety certification is advantageous.
• Significant experience in a senior engineering, technical, or testing role within a manufacturing or industrial environment; subsea, oil and gas, pressure testing, or related experience preferred.
• Practical experience with mechanical or pressure-test equipment, including test methods, calibration, maintenance, and fault finding.
• Demonstrated ability to develop test solutions, specify equipment, interpret test data, and conduct technical investigations.
• Strong understanding of safety management, risk assessment, safe systems of work, quality control, and non-conformance processes.
• Proven leadership, mentoring, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, combined with a proactive and continuous-improvement mindset.
