Job summary

Proserv is seeking a Mechanical Controls Engineer to join our Engineering team in Great Yarmouth. You will design subsea and topside control systems and produce the technical documentation required to deliver projects across the energy sector.

The role emphasizes applying fluid dynamics and structural calculations, using CAD and engineering software, and working with procurement, manufacturing and offshore teams to ensure safe, compliant and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification at BEng level or equivalent (HNC/HND accepted).
• Experience with subsea and/or topside control projects.
• Understanding of fluid dynamics and structural calculations.
• Experience with MathCAD or CS8 for calculations.
• Familiarity with CAD systems (SolidWorks or Autodesk).
• Experience using ERP systems.
• Knowledge of materials and their properties.
• Understanding of hazardous area equipment selection, installation and maintenance.
• Experience with on-site/offshore commissioning or fault-finding.

Responsibilities

• Design subsea and topside control systems.
• Produce clear engineering documentation.
• Carry out calculations to confirm designs meet specifications.
• Ensure solutions comply with specifications, standards and QA/QC requirements.
• Work closely with procurement, manufacturing, testing and commissioning teams.
• Support delivery of projects within timescales and requirements.
• Work with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and met.
• Support testing, commissioning and fault-finding activities.
• Contribute to a culture of quality, health, safety and continuous improvement.
