Job summary

Automation Experts is seeking a Control Systems Engineer on a contract basis in Tyne & Wear. The role spans 4-6 months with a 37.5 hour week, offering exposure to power generation and renewable energy projects.

The successful candidate will design electrical power and control systems, implement Ethernet and serial networks, support PLC programming (Siemens TIA Portal and Rockwell) and produce technical documentation. Subsea experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• A degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
• Siemens TIA Portal PLC development & programming.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical (advantageous but not essential).
• Preferred to have subsea experience.

Responsibilities

• Design of electrical power and control systems
• Design and implementation of Ethernet and serial communication networks
• Support PLC programming using Siemens TIA Portal and/or Rockwell
• Produce & maintain technical documentation (specifications, risk assessments, manuals, etc.)
