Job summary

Tec Partners Recruitment Ltd is seeking a mid-level Mechanical Design Engineer for a 6-month on-site contract in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. You will design and develop new and existing products, producing 3D models and 2D drawings for manufacture, with R&D collaboration to refine concepts.

Ideal candidates have a Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent, strong SolidWorks skills, and experience in oil & gas or subsea; travel to site is expected where required, and the role is Outside IR35.

Qualifications

• Degree, HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Proven mid-level Mechanical Design Engineer experience.
• Strong SolidWorks skills.
• Experience in oil & gas or subsea would be a strong advantage.
• Experience with hydraulic or large-scale mechanical systems would be beneficial.
• Good attention to detail and a structured approach to your work.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to travel reliably to the Great Yarmouth site.

Responsibilities

• Produce 3D models, assemblies and detailed 2D drawings in SolidWorks.
• Work alongside the R&D team to develop new product concepts and improve existing designs.
• Ensure designs meet technical specifications, industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support design reviews, prototyping and testing activities.
• Maintain accurate design documentation and revision control.

The Role

As a mid-level Mechanical Design Engineer, you ll work closely with the R&D team to design and develop new and existing products, taking concepts through to detailed designs ready for manufacture.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce 3D models, assemblies and detailed 2D drawings in SolidWorks
• Work alongside the R&D team to develop new product concepts and improve existing designs
• Ensure designs meet technical specifications, industry standards and regulatory requirements
